A New York native owns one of the most soulful and melodious voices in inspirational song today. His childhood years whistling to his grandfather’s jazz albums, singing at family and church gatherings, and classical training at his music and art high school all contribute to Maurice’s refreshing and distinctive sound. Maurice’s broad vocal range and acting abilities have captivated many and afforded him opportunities to touch audiences throughout the U.S. and abroad. He has lent his vocal and acting talents to film and television including Tubi’s current hit Ma’s House and is still recognized from his appearances on the latter season of The Cosby Show. Some of Maurice’s stage credits include Tyler Perry’s Madea on the Run, Madea Gets a Job, The Haves & the Have Nots, Aunt Bam’s Place, and A Madea’s Christmas; Darrin Henson’s A House is Not a Home, and a number of other independent productions. With over 30 years in the business, Maurice has acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience that he willingly shares through trainings and mentorships. He started Fine Tune Vocal Coaching LLC where students are learning to “make music with their voice” through one on one coaching. Maurice is a man rooted in faith, family, and ministry. He and his wife Alicia enjoy serving others in the church and community in their newly launched ministry, Free Ministries Inc. located in the Raleigh, NC area and online. They have 3 children and 1 granddaughter.
